Prep (Key Stage 2)

Our pupils are encouraged to question, discuss and reason across all areas of the curriculum as they begin to develop into more independent and responsible learners. Their natural curiosity, alongside a challenging curriculum enables each and every pupil to make progress.

Our small classes ensure that everyone receives a generous amount of individual attention and teachers are committed to bringing out the best in every pupil.

In Years 3 and 4, our pupils continue to develop a love of learning so that each one can realise their potential. We encourage curiosity and perseverance so that they develop enquiring minds and a greater independence in their learning. We promote a caring attitude towards others.

At Crown House Years 3 and 4 have specialist teacher for Music, Drama, French, Games and PE. Our English, Maths, Science, Computing and Topic lessons are taught by Form teachers.

There are many opportunities for the pupils to grow outside the classroom, whether it be joining a new club for the first time, representing the school at sporting events or smiling their way through the residential trip.

In Years 5 and 6 we aim to help our pupils to be self-reliant, confident, well-mannered individuals. We build on the foundations already established and help our pupils to become more independent in their learning

In Year 5 and 6 our pupils are taught by subject specialist teachers in English, Maths, Music, Drama, French, Games and PE.  Science, Computing, D&T, Art, RE, History and Geography are taught by Form teachers.
