An Exceptional Early Years department
At Crown House, our Early Years department is characterised by the happiness, kindness, and success of our pupils. The wide, up to date curriculum that we offer is combined with a caring, encouraging, and well-ordered family environment.
As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 key areas of learning and development. The first three areas are communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. Once these are established, they help them to develop skills in Literacy, Mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design; these are the next four areas of development.
Starting school full time is a daunting experience for any child, but we ensure that the transition from Nursery to Reception is smooth and happy. We continue the learning journey towards the Early Learning Goals as set out in the EYFS curriculum, and ensure that your child will be supported fully throughout this stage.
We pride ourselves on teaching children as individuals, encouraging playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically. By encouraging and expecting good manners, we help to ensure that your child is prepared for our infants school.
