Parents as Partners for Learning

At Crown House we strongly believe parents are children’s first and enduring educators. When parents and practitioners work together in the Early Years settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning. Crown House welcomes and encourages parents to contribute to all aspects of their child’s learning through Early Years. We will always do our best to ensure you are fully aware of what your child is learning at school to enable you to support and be included in your child’s learning through:

  • School weekly newsletters – to keep you up to date on what your child will be learning in school.
  • Twitter and Teams Feed – to keep you up to date with your child’s learning as it happens.
  • Weekly home challenges – to enable you to support your child’s learning at home.
  • Home /school reading books – to enable you to tell us how your child is reading at home.
  • Magic Moments – to enable you to share those moments at home when your child has completed something very special outside of school work.
  • Spelling and Rocket word challenges – to enable you to help support the development of your child’s early reading and writing, when the children are ready.
  • Class Assemblies – to enable you to celebrate your child’s work in the school environment.
  • Open access to your child’s unique learning journey. If you wish to look at your child’s learning journey please ask your child’s teacher who will arrange this for you. We encourage you as parents to make observations from home that will also be added into the journey.
  • Invitation to share your knowledge – we welcome parents to come and share any special skills they may have or other occasions such as religious celebrations.
"Children blossom in the early years, and their behaviour and personal development are exemplary."
