Sign to Sing Starts off our Week in Fine Voice

On Monday the whole school joined together to perform our signed song "Friends Forever."  It was wonderful to see the children all coming together for this collective moment and developing an understanding of how others live their lives. Thank you very much to everyone who has supported the charity, Signhealth, in their important work.

Some of the classes also rose to the challenge to see how long they could stay silent for.  Year Five probably take the crown for the longest ever silence; with the majority managing around an hour and a quarter.  The longest silence in class was two hours and four minutes.  The children enjoyed an interesting discussion about Evelyn Glennie and how she feels playing the percussion instruments even though she is profoundly deaf.

Year Two didn’t manage to be silent for quite as long but were equally awed to hear about the life of Helen Keller who was blind and deaf!
