This Wednesday saw our Year Five and Six footballers travel to Dair House for an away fixture. The team arrived in fine voice after a loud but tuneful journey to the venue.
It was decided that we would play two five-a-side games and teams were picked. In the first half Crown House dominated one game while Dair House dominated the other. A tremendous bicycle kick shot attempt by Thomas, which was then converted by Denzel, was just one of the highlights. Half time scores were 4-0 to Crown House on one pitch and 4-0 to Dair House on the other. For the second half it was agreed to mix the teams up and both Lily and Evangeline bravely donned the goal keepers gloves to give the tenacious Tilly a chance to come outfield. Amelie made some important tackles and there were some good chances to add to the scoreline but unfortunately it wasn't to be. The final score 4-4 and 6-3 to Dair House.
The team did not let the result dampen their spirits however and after waving Thomas off with his grandparents, the rest of the team returned to Crown House still singing at the tops of their voices! A great match played with great spirit, well done to everyone involved!Previous
