We often hear about the negative side of social media and the internet. It is indeed very true however, it can also be a wonderful thing. This week was a very good example of that.
Mrs Da Costa, as part of her reading mission, has been interacting with authors via Twitter. Last Friday Ross Welford, author of ‘Time Travelling with a Hamster’ and ‘What not to do if you Turn Invisible,’ suggested that perhaps he could come and visit the children who were so enthusiastic about his books. Whilst we thought this would take a while to happen, the children were very happy to know that an author they loved was impressed by their interest.
On Monday Mrs Da Costa was pleasantly surprised when Mr Welford informed her that he was able to come along this Tuesday as he was in the area. Much excitement ensued! Mrs Da Costa and Mrs Pawlowska set about planning, as he was coming at 1pm, right in the middle of lunch!
On the day, he spent time talking to the children, answering their questions and signing books. We are very proud of how welcoming and thoughtful the children were about Ross and his books.Previous
